Portret austrougarskog mornaričkog činovnika formata pozivnice. Muškarac je fotografiran do pojasa, sjedi, pogleda usmjerena prema kameri. Odjeven u odoru austrougarskog mornaričkog činovnika s dvorednim kopčanjem i metalnim gumbima te oznakom službe na lijevom ramenu. Ispod odore nazire se bijela košulja s kravatom. Na glavi nosi kapu s krutim obodom na čijem se prednjem dijelu nalazi kruna. Ruke su položene na koljena, a o pojas je zataknuta sablja. Lice je ovalno, s bradom i duljim brkovima, nosi naočale.

Fotografija je podlijepljena na karton bijele boje. Na aversu, ispod fotografije, pri dnu, slovima zlatne boje otisnuto ime i sjedište fotografa: desno C. Gallinaro, centrirano, monogram CG u kružnoj kartuši, desno POLA. Na reversu je figurativno-tipografska kompozicija: lijevo, camera obscura, ženski lik s krilima, ispod kerubin koji u rukama drži slikarsku paletu; desno je natpis na talijanskom jeziku: FOTOGRAFIA di Cesare Gallinaro Pola te adresa.

Portrait of an Austro-Hungarian naval officer, carte de visite format. The man is photographed from the waist up, seated, gaze directed at the camera. He wears the uniform of an Austro-Hungarian naval officer with double-breasted fastenings, metal buttons, and a service insignia on the left shoulder. A white shirt and tie are visible beneath the uniform. On his head he wears a cap with a stiff brim, adorned at the front with a crown. His hands rest on his knees, and a sword is tucked into his belt. The face is oval, with a beard and long moustache; he wears glasses.

The photograph is mounted on white cardboard. On the recto, below the photograph at the bottom, the photographer’s name and location are printed in gold letters: left C. Gallinaro, centre monogram CG in a circular cartouche, right Pola. On the verso, a figurative-typographic composition: left, a camera obscura, a female figure with wings, below a cherub holding a painter’s palette; right, inscription in Italian: FOTOGRAFIA di Cesare Gallinaro Pola and address.
